How to create a QR code for email signup
A signup QR code should open a form, explain what customers will receive, and let them choose whether to subscribe. Scanning the code alone should never add someone to your list.
Link to a signup page, not an email address
A QR code can open many things. For customer signup, its destination should be a mobile-friendly subscription page. A code that opens a blank email draft is useful for contacting you, but does not create a confirmed subscription.
KeepMPosted gives your workspace a subscription page and a QR code that opens it. Customers can choose email or Telegram from the channels you enable. They do not need a KeepMPosted account.
Set up your business’s signup route
- Sign in and give your workspace the business name customers recognize.
- In Settings, enable email and, if appropriate for your audience, Telegram. SMS is not available.
- Open the Subscribe QR section of your dashboard. Use Download QR for a PNG or Print QR for a printable page.
- Scan the code with a phone. Check the business name, choose email, and complete the confirmation step.
- Check that your confirmed subscription appears in Subscribers before printing a batch of signs.
Before sending email updates, add your physical postal address and a monitored reply-to address to your organization profile.
Give people a reason to scan
Use the space beside the code to say exactly what the list is for. A useful invitation names the update, the business, and the available channels.
Before you make the trip: get our opening-hour changes and unexpected closure updates. Scan to subscribe by email or Telegram.
If you only intend to send occasional operational notices, say that. Do not promise a discount or an alert for every booking unless you actually provide it. Keep the sign close enough to scan without stepping into a queue or blocking a doorway.
Test the printed sign
- Keep the code dark on a light background, with a clear margin around it.
- Print a sample and scan it at the distance where customers will stand.
- Check it under the actual lighting, especially behind glass or on a glossy counter.
- Use a phone on mobile data as well as your business Wi-Fi.
- Include the signup page address nearby for people who cannot scan.
A successful camera scan is only the first check. Test the entire path through confirmation and a sample update before relying on the sign.
What happens after a customer scans?
Email subscribers enter their address and confirm the subscription from their inbox. Telegram subscribers follow the bot flow. Choosing to scan is not the same as choosing to receive messages.
The QR code opens the signup page; it does not send an update. You write and send updates from your dashboard. Customers can unsubscribe when the updates are no longer useful.
Start with the next practical update
Once your list is in place, use it for a clear, relevant notice: a late opening, a closure, or a changed class time. Keep expectations consistent with the sign customers scanned.
For ready-to-adapt examples, see temporary closure notices and class cancellation messages.
